Hansen Shipping Agencies Co. Ltd. was established on October 17th, 1988. We started out as a charter and gradually evolved to specialize in agency service tendered to container carriers with liner service, general , and dry bulk carriers.
To expand the scope of our business to provide services both domestically and internationally, Hansen Shipping formed a merger with Mars Shipping Agencies Co., Ltd. on April 16th, 1990, and started the agent services in Kaohsiung. Meanwhile, Hoyer Global Transport, the Dutch iso-tank owner, also commissioned Hansen Shipping as its agent in 1990, and this relationship continues. In 1988, Mars Shipping Agencies Co., Ltd. won the Outstanding Contribution Award accredited by the Port Authority. After years of hard-work and management, Hansen Shipping branches out into agent services for petrochemical parcel tankers in 2000.

To receive recognition from both domestic and international owners and to lead in the domestic agency industry, Hansen Shipping invested to transform its internal management. In 2000, we received the ISO9001 quality certificate from the prestigious AJA in England, and we were therefore further recognized for our quality of services. In May 2011, we changed to be certified by Global Group. |
In 2002, Hansen Shipping again won the Outstanding Contribution Award accredited by the Port Authority. Seeking to diversify our services, Hansen Shipping’s shareholders, with the funding from Hong Kong, formed the Sovereign Base Logistics Holdings Co. Ltd. Cambodia in 2002. The main purpose is to deliver the shipment between Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Mekong River. To unify the services, Hansen Logistics, a freight forwarder, was also born to meet the international demands for shipping services.
In 2003, Hansen Shipping’s outstanding performance in the agent services industry allowed us to win the Excellent Shipping Award accredited by the Kaohsiung Customs Office for the first time.

In December, 2004, Hansen Shipping signed partnership agreements with the National Kaohsiung Marine University. In addition to providing internship experiences to the students from the university, Hansen Shipping also offers scholarship opportunities to encourage academic excellence in order to train top-tier individuals in the field. |
In 2005, Hansen Shipping started in freight brokerage to provide owners and consignors faster and more convenient information as well as acting as a bridge for communication between the two.
With the consistent good quality of services in the past numerous years, the English firm, V.Ships, chose Hansen Shipping as its partner and established V.Ships Hansen (Taiwan) Co. Ltd in July 2006, colluding with the wings of V.Ships in Singapore to promote the agent services industry into an internationally.
To globalize its services, Hansen Shipping ’s stockholder and Asia Maritime Pte Ltd. from Singapore co-established V.Ships Hansen Ltd. in Hong Kong in August 2006. An office was also established in Shanghai in order to provide and extend agency services in China.
In July 2006, Hansen Shipping formed an office in Ho Chi Minh City and internationally extended all our services in forwarding, transit of ship’s spare parts, customs clearance, and shipping agents, with a focus on the needs of clients from Vietnam and Cambodia. In 2007, Hoyer Transports made Hansen Shipping the main agent in chemical shipping in Vietnam. In 2010, the company in Vietnam changed its name to Hoyer Transport (Vietnam) Co. Ltd.
In 2007, Wei Cheng Shi, Chairman of Hansen Shipping was awarded the Exemplary Port Practitioner Prize in Kaohsiung.
In 2009, Hansen Shipping again won the Outstanding Performance award accredited by the Kaohsiung Port Authority.
Since the establishment in 1988, Hansen Shipping has gone through 20 years of experience, including agent services for all businesses in Taiwan, petrochemical parcel tankers agent services, international shipping businesses, Cambodian river transportation services, Vietnamese harbor agent services, forwarding, freight brokerage, and Chinese agent services. In these years, in addition to the recognition received by relevant organizations and authorities, our growth and support come from the recognition from our clients. Hansen Shipping will continue to work with the principle that clients are our first priority, provide the best services to both domestic and international customers, and continue working to be our clients’ entrusted partner.
